Sign in with Microsoft

"Sign in with Microsoft" allows a ScreenHubb User to employ a Microsoft account to log into ScreenHubb.

After a ScreenHubb User logs in using "Sign in with Microsoft" for the first time, the security settings of the ScreenHubb User are automatically updated.  That ScreenHubb User may ONLY use the "Sign in with Microsoft" method in the future.  (Using the "Email" and "Password" fields to log into ScreenHubb will fail with an "Invalid Password Request" error.)

Your Account Administrator must authorize "External Login" in the account options to use "Sign in with Microsoft".  (See the "Security - External Login" article for information on enabling this login method.)

ScreenHubb's Password Complexity will not be applied to any User with Sign In With Microsoft enabled.

Turning On "Sign in with Microsoft"

There are two methods to configuring a ScreenHubb User to sign in using a Microsoft account;

  • The ScreenHubb User is the same email address as the Microsoft account
If the new ScreenHubb User's email address is the same email address used to log in to Microsoft (i.e., @outlook.com, @hotmail.com, etc), then that User can sign into ScreenHubb directly using the "Sign in with Microsoft" button.
  • The ScreenHubb User email address is different than the Microsoft account
A User who has a Microsoft account but logs into ScreenHubb using a different email address must first log into ScreenHubb, and then they can link their Microsoft account to their ScreenHubb account and use "Sign in with Microsoft" in the future.  ScreenHubb will still continue to communicate with you via your ScreenHubb user email address, even if your linked Microsoft account email address is different.

The ScreenHubb User uses the same email address as the Microsoft Account

This method can only be used with email addresses that have been set up for access to ScreenHubb using an email address that is also an active Microsoft account.

  1. The user can initiate the Sign in with Microsoft from the Email login window or password window by simply clicking the button "Sign in with Microsoft".
  2. A login window for Microsoft will be displayed.  Complete this login with your Microsoft account credentials.  The ScreenHubb account will now use the Microsoft login exclusively.

The ScreenHubb User email address is different than the Microsoft login

After a User has already logged into ScreenHubb using their username and password, they can enable Sign in with Microsoft for any designated Microsoft account.

  1. Log into ScreenHubb with your ScreenHubb username and password.

  2. Click down-arrow beside "Welcome, <User Name>" and select "My Account" from the menu.

  3. Click "Sign in with Microsoft".
  4. A confirmation window will display, click "Yes" to proceed.
  5. You will be directed to the Microsoft login window.  Complete this login with your Microsoft account credentials.  The account will now use the Microsoft login exclusively.
NOTE: ScreenHubb will continue to communicate with you via your ScreenHubb user email address, even if your linked Microsoft account email address is different.

Logging into ScreenHubb using "Sign in with Microsoft"

  1. At the login page of ScreenHubb click the "Sign in with Microsoft" button.
  2. A Microsoft login window will display.  Complete this login with your Microsoft account credentials.

Disabling "Sign in with Microsoft"

The "Sign in with Microsoft" feature can be removed from a User by an Account Administrator through the Users tab of the ScreenHubb Dashboard.

When the "Sign in with Microsoft" feature has been removed from a ScreenHubb User, an email will be sent to the User to establish a new password.
