Data Connection Setup - CRL

NOTE: This feature requires the Document Manager subscription option.  For info on how to add Document Manager to your subscription, see the Subscription Management article.

Credentials from CRL to download result data files must be entered into DrugPak as part of this setup.  Contact customer service at CRL and inform them that you want to download result data into DrugPak.

There are two data formats available from CRL; CDT and HL7.  Consult with CRL about which file format is best for you.

Once CRL has configured your account for downloading result data, then CRL will provide you with credentials to access that data.  Those credentials are entered into the Imports page of the Laboratory record in DrugPak.  The credentials normally include Host, Port, Username, Password, and (possibly) Directory.

CRL CDT data may include cutoff values for both screen and confirmation testing.  CRL HL7 data does not include any cutoffs.

DrugPak's Data Connection for CRL HL7 data supports the retrieval of associated documents.

Following the steps from the "Result Data Import Interface Configuration" article, access the Import page of the Laboratory record that the Data Connection is to be set up in.

  1. Click on the Imports page of the Laboratory Vendor Record to set up.

  2. Select "CRL" in the Lab field.

  3. Select the file type that you chose from CRL.
  4. Select "SFTP" as the Data Source.

  5. Enter the communication credentials that were provided by CRL (Host, Port, User Name, Password, Directory).
  6. Click the <Save> button to save the changes to the Import Settings.

  7. To begin having DrugPak look for data sent from the laboratory, click the <Enable It Now> button.

Document Import

DrugPak's feature to import documents from CRL requires that CRL enable a corresponding feature for the lab account.   To enable this feature, consult with CRL about enabling document delivery along with result data delivery.

To enable receipt of documents along with result data from CRL, turn on "Import Documents" in the Options of the Import Settings.
